Dog Training

Unleash Your Dog's Potential
The services I provide are all designed to challenge your dog mentally as well as physically. I offer these services for the purpose of creating a greater bond between you and your dog as well as fulfilling your dog's needs when you are unable. The leadership and handling skills you will learn are the building blocks to unleashing your dog's potential.
Puppy Training & Socialization Classes

Puppy class is for pups 8 weeks to 6 months of age. These classes are held indoors in a clean, veterinary environment so early socialization is as safe as possible. Puppy classes focus on proper socialization and solutions to common behavior problems. I'll introduce you and your puppy to basic obedience commands and canine learning theory. We will be laying the foundation for your pup to grow into a healthy well-behaved dog, all the while having a great time.
Your pup will learn to love learning!
- Supervised playtime in a safe, clean environment
- Socialization (Exposure to people, dogs, objects, sounds, etc.)
- Learning theory (how dogs learn)
- Beginning obedience commands (Heel, Sit, Down, Come, Stay, etc.)
- Handling skills
- Behavior solutions (Housebreaking, Jumping, Chewing, Biting, Barking, Digging, etc.)
- Games (Fetch, Tug, etc.)
- Tricks (Shake, Roll-Over, etc.)
- Introduction to agility obstacles

Price: $105.00 for 6 week class.

Basic Obedience Classes
Basic Obedience Classes are designed for adolescent and adult dogs with little to no previous training. Yes, you can teach old dogs new tricks! 6 months, 6 years, 16 years...age does not matter; this class is open to all. While it is always better, and easier, to start young it is never too late to start training. We will cover the foundational work taught in puppy class, minus playtime, but expectations will be higher and the skills learned will be more extensive. These classes are held indoors in a clean, veterinary environment as well as outdoors to provide a good balance of real world distractions and structured training. The focus is largely on Positive Reinforcement techniques but you will also learn about Corrections and their proper, responsible, non-harmful use. You will have the opportunity discuss, observe and apply a variety of techniques and strategies and find the right ones for you and your dog.
Your dog will learn:
- Basic obedience (Heel, Sit, Down, Come, Stay, etc.)
- Learning theory
- Proper greetings and socialization
- Leadership skills
- Handling skills
- Responsible use of corrections
- How to build drive and motivation
- How to balance multiple training techniques
- Behavior solutions (biting, barking, jumping, etc.)
- Intro to agility obstacles
- Tricks (shake, roll-over, etc.)
- Games (fetch, tug, etc.)

Private Lessons and Behavior Consultations
Private lessons are a great way to train your dog. Maybe your dog has behavior issues or maybe a classroom environment isn't for you. Maybe you just prefer to train at home. There are definitely benefits to training in your house, yard, car, neighborhood, local park, pet store, etc. as they are all places that you and your dog experience on a daily basis. Private lessons can deal with behavior issues in a very focused way that simply is not possible in a group class. The advantage of 1:1 attention can really turbo charge your dog's response to the training. Once your dog is ready, we can move your dog to group classes or do private training in tandem with group classes. Any problem, any breed, any age!
I offer in-home private training sessions anywhere in the Bay Area, including San Francisco, San Jose, Morgan Hill, Gilroy and Hollister.
These sessions are $95.00 for the session and each session typically lasts 2-3 hours. (I don't charge by the hour because I want you focused on the training, not the clock).
Prices may require an additional fee for travel outside of the south bay.
Purchase your private training session here.
$10.00 Drop-In Classes: Intermediate to Advanced Training
I offer $10.00 drop-in classes for several reasons. First, I believe a dog's training is never done. If your dog has graduated from a 6 week obedience class, that is a great start. But it's only a start. In order to reinforce the basics as well as home in on the intricacies of advanced training, it is important to practice and practice often, for both the dog and the handler. Perfect practice makes perfect.
Because the classes are drop-in style, the class size can range from 2 dogs to 15 dogs. People love the flexibility and I love having dogs interact with different dogs, in a controlled environment, every time.
Whether you are looking to keep your dog "tuned up" by coming out once a month or looking to turn your dog into a "rockstar" by coming out every week, the $10.00 drop-in classes are here to accommodate your budget and your schedule. We also mix in a little agility for fun.
For more information on these drop-in style classes, please visit my $10.00 Drop-Ins Page.
Check the calendar for this week's schedule. Please make sure to RSVP via email or phone (408) 838-0100.
Purchase a package of 4 drop-in group classes online and pay only $32.00 for all 4 sessions. That is a savings of 20%.

Turn-Key Dog Training: Let Me Train Your Dog for You
Dog training may not be rocket science but there is an art to it and it does require three valuable commodities: time, effort and know-how. Since these commodities can be rare, I offer a variety of services that allow you to hand over the reins to me. From basic obedience to “off-the-chain” behavior issues, Turn-Key options allow me to put in the initial time and effort and train the dog for you. This does not mean that you are uninvolved as you will participate in transfer sessions to learn how to manage and maintain the desired behaviors at home.
Walk 'n' Train
I will exercise your dog mentally as well as physically through walks, fetch, tug of war and bike rides, as well as work on their obedience training or behavior issues. I do this for a very competitive dog walker rate so it is essentially Free Dog Training! Every Walk ‘n' Train will help to ingrain the wanted behaviors, discourage the unwanted and keep their energy requirements fulfilled….all while you’re at work or on vacation!
I charge $25.00 for a half hour Walk 'n' Train if you live in Morgan Hill, San Martin or Gilroy. Additional fees will apply outside these cities. I give a discount for clients who buy in bulk.
Email or call me to make arrangements. Preferred method of payment is cash or check but happy to accept credit cards through PayPal below if more convenient.
Board 'n' Train
Working with a local boarding and daycare facility, I'm able to offer training and exercise for your dog while you board them for an extended period of time or during their normal dog daycare routine. What you will find is the dog is consistently and correctly being trained, and certain behavior is being expected from them each and every day, which will make them more enjoyable companions for you to love at home.
For more information, visit my Turn-Key Training Page.
Non-Competitive Agility Class
Agility training is a fun and mentally challenging way to train and exercise your dog. Much like organized sports, it helps develop mental focus, endurance and physical stamina. It is also a great way to help your shy dog to become more confident.
For more information on my agility classes, please visit my Agility page.
Be sure to check my calendar for the next agility start date.
